What is RISQS?
‘RISQS is the entry point for suppliers to the rail industry. Buyers of products and services throughout the GB rail industry use RSSB RISQS as its supplier qualification service. In short, we help suppliers sell into the GB rail industry by providing an open, fair and transparent way for them to be formally recognised as capable providers of products and services.
This means we support Network Rail, Transport for London, passenger and freight operating companies, rolling stock organisations, main infrastructure contractors and many other buying organisations in the management of supply chain
Enabling business improvement
Keeping our workforce, customers and the public safe and healthy is key to good business performance. As a member of the CIRAS community, we demonstrate our commitment to listening to all employees – however they prefer to speak up – and to improving safety and reducing risk in our business. We build psychological safety, helping to grow a culture of inclusion where all voices are valued.
Confidential reporting can help us to overcome employee perceptions of the consequences of reporting concerns, or lost confidence in internal systems, so we can tap into opportunities for improvement that are noticed by our people but would otherwise remain hidden.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
To those who proudly protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to you.
It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
What is the Institute of Carpenters
The IOC was founded in 1890 by 11 craftsmen who had achieved first class passes in the new exams set by the Worshipful Company of Carpenters, one of the oldest livery companies in the City of London. At that time, the Institute’s role was to oversee training for carpenters and joiners to help maintain high professional standards and skills at a time when many feared that traditional skills were being lost.
We’re proud of our heritage and history and over a century later we’re still committed to the original aims of ensuring each generation of carpenters and joiners upholds the highest traditions of our historic craft (not just that of carpentry, but also other wood trades such as furniture and cabinet makers, structural post and beam carpenters, wheelwrights, computer aided design carpentry design, wood carvers and turners and boat builders).
Today, we work to enhance and promote the status of our ancient profession and to ensure that our members and their clients benefit from the superior knowledge and craftsmanship associated with the Institute.
Backing experience up with with training from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) we have an in house project manager that will oversee our works and can also be engaged with for the sole purpose of project management of other works that we are not involved with.
NAS are the UK’s dedicated professional association for shopfitters, fit-out and interior contractors.
With many trade associations to consider, joining NAS was a strategic decision to help grow our business to business relationships.
With increased fitout works in the coming months we decided being a member of NAS would benefit us in many ways including being able to showcase our completed work to a wider audience, engage with more industry related suppliers, and have another network for training, help and support.
